10 Killed in Southwest Pakistan Bomb Blast—Authorities Investigate

A deadly explosion in southwest Pakistan claimed the lives of ten labourers on Friday when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED), according to officials.

Shahzad Zahri, a senior government official, confirmed the attack in Harnai district, stating, “Ten mine workers were killed in the incident.”

Another senior official, Saleem Tareen, revealed that the victims were traveling from their work site to a nearby market when their car was targeted. “It was an IED blast, and we are currently investigating the attack,” he said.

Harnai district is located over 160 kilometers (104 miles) from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.

While no group has claimed responsibility, the Baloch Liberation Army has a history of carrying out deadly attacks in the region, often targeting security forces and non-Baloch individuals, particularly Punjabis.
