10-Year Roadmap: Nigeria To Revamp Steel Sector

The Nigerian Government says it will unveil a ten-year national roadmap plan for the country’s Steel development and a three year plan for the Ajaokuta Steel Complex to revive the sector.

The country’s Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu who stated this in an interactive session with journalists in Abuja the nation’s capital, said the Ministry remains focused on developing the sector.

Audu added that the National plan is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to transform the economy.

Federal Govt. to Revamp Steel Sector — Minister

“President Tinubu created the ministry in August last year to revamp the steel sector.”

The Minister disclosed that he has been consulting with development partners on how best the Ajakuta Steel Industry and the country’s National Steel Industry can strive.

He said that Nigeria’s abundant mineral resources hold the key to reshaping the nation’s economic landscape and extending the benefits of democracy to every citizen adding that the country was ready to take a leading role in the steel market across the globe

Likewise, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mary Ogbe said the country has all that it takes to develop the steel sector.
