The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that a total of 1,837,011 candidates were registered at the end of its 2022 registration exercise for both Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).
This was contained in the examination body’s weekly bulletin.
The registration details of the candidates were captured nationwide between February 19, and March 26.
With the applicants paying N4,700 for registration, JAMB generated a total sum of N8.6 billion.
Out of the sum, 776 computer-based test (CBT) centres that took part in the exercise will share an estimated N1.3 billion, at the rate of N700 per candidate registered by each of the centres.
