Cross Continental World Cup Hosting In The Offing! Egypt-Greece-Saudi Arabia To Tackle Uruguay, Argentina, Chile And Paraguay

A cross continental World Cup bid may be the other of the day as struggle for the hosting the 2030 edition gather momentum.

The edition will be the centennial as World Cup itself began in 1930.

The next edition in 2026 is already a ‘united’ venture featuring US, Canada and Mexico – the first three-nation co-hosting.

On the heels of this, Saudi Arabia in Asia and Egypt in Africa have initially proposed a joint bid. They have now enlisted Greece in Europe to make it a three-continent hosting.

Egypt had earlier made a bid for 2020, but lost to South  Africa. Last month, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay formalized their joint candidacy for the organization of the 2030 World Cup which will mark the 100th year  of the competition, the first edition of which was disputed in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Another bid that has surfaced is that of  Spain and Portugal. Morocco, a perennial candidate for the World Cup hosting, having been left out by Spain and Portugal, are considering another bid.

Also on the card is a joint bid of Israel, United Arab Emirates  and Bahrain. FIFA will designate the host country in 2024.
