Akwa-Ibom Flood: Reps. Ask N/Delta Affairs, Others To Provide Palliatives To Ravaging Communities

The House of Representatives has raised concerns over the ongoing flood ravaging communities in Akwa-ibom state.

This follows a motion of urgent public importance moved by Honourable Uduak Alphonsus during plenary and it was seconded by Hon. Bassey Ekpenyong.

Honourable Alphonsus in leading the debate called on NEMA, as well as the Federal Ministry on Humanitarian Affairs, the Niger Delta Ministry and  other relevant agencies of government to provide welfare palliatives for the victims and relocate them to safer grounds until they are safe to be brought back home.

The motion was voted on and adopted by the house.
