Hollywood star Alec Baldwin on Monday says he’s ‘grateful’ for support as Rust filming continues at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana, nearly a year and half after Halyna Hutchins was shot dead on set.
The 65 year old actor, who has regained his role as main character in the Western, posted a photo on instagram as he wrote: “We filmed SUPERCELL in Billings. Now outside of Bozeman to complete RUST. Montana is stunning”.
Baldwin’s update went on: “I’m grateful for all of the support I have received here.”
On 21 October 2021, ‘Rust’ shooting was suspended after Hutchens was fatally wounded on set when a prop gun Baldwin was holding went off during a rehearsal.
Actor Alec Baldwin Settles Lawsuit Over Shooting Incident On Film Set
The actor, Alec Baldwin, says the gun went off accidentally and he did not pull the trigger.
All criminal charges against the actor were dropped earlier this month of April 2023, however the civil lawsuit brought against Baldwin by Hutchins’ family is still going ahead.
Hutchins’ widower, Matthew Hutchins, is now an executive producer on the film, as well as on a documentary about his late cinematographer wife.
Director Joel Souza, who was also injured in the shooting, has returned to lead the film.
He said in a statement after filming resumed: “Though bittersweet, I am grateful that a brilliant and dedicated new production team is joining former cast and crew to complete what Halyna and I started.”
Production is expected to complete by the end of May, while Armourer Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who was responsible for weapons and ammunition for the production, is facing an involuntary manslaughter charge.
