Baggage Screening Fault Disrupts Flight Operations At Abuja Airport

Flight activities at the domestic terminal of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport have been disrupted following a technical fault affecting baggage screening equipment.

The issue, which occurred on Monday, has slowed down baggage processing and aircraft loading, leading to potential delays in flight departures.

In a statement, Air Peace explained the situation, noting that operations have been impacted by the malfunction.

“This situation is due to a technical issue with baggage screening equipment within the terminal, which has slowed standard processing procedures,” the statement reads.

“To minimise disruption, we have proactively activated alternative screening procedures using available equipment to ensure flights continue operating safely.

“However, these additional steps may result in longer processing times and possible delays to some departures.”

The airline added that ground staff have been mobilised to support passengers, provide timely updates, and prioritise affected flights.

Air Peace also confirmed it is working closely with airport authorities to resolve the issue promptly and restore normal operations.

“Please be assured that we are doing everything within our control to expedite the process and reduce the impact on your travel plans,” the airline added.

The airline apologised for the inconvenience caused and appealed to passengers for patience as efforts continue to fix the problem.
