Barcelona’s 17-year-old forward, Lamine Yamal, has claimed the 2024 Kopa Trophy, cementing his place as the top young talent in world football.
“LAMINE YAMAL TAKES THE 2024 KOPA TROPHY! The unstoppable 17-year-old Spanish wonder has reached new heights,” the Ballon d’Or organizers announced via X, celebrating the young star’s incredible accomplishment.
Yamal topped a formidable lineup of emerging players, surpassing Real Madrid’s Arda Güler, who took second place. Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo placed third, with Savinho and Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi completing the top five.
Yamal’s achievement is even more remarkable given his age. At only 17, he’s already a regular starter for Barcelona, showcasing talent and maturity far beyond his years. This award solidifies Yamal’s status as one of football’s brightest up-and-coming stars and the premier under-21 player in the sport.
