Beneficial Effects Of Music To Mental Health And Well-Being

Music generally is the art of arranging sound  to create some combination of form, harmony, melody, rhythm or expressive content. Also music vary considerably around the world, though it is an aspect of all human societies and cultural universal.

Some have said music is food for the soul and it may have some beneficial effects on mental health. this article take a look at some of this benefits

1. Music helps you feel less pain: music may not make pain go away entirely, but it can provide a positive distraction. Listening to music can trigger the release of dopamine; a brain chemical associated with feeling of pleasure that may also play a role in pain regulation.

2. Music helps boost your immune health: it provide the opportunity for socialization and creative self-expression it also help support your immune system. Music can boost your immune system by increasing the activity of natural killer cells and these cells can help prevent  infections and tumors from spreading.

3. Music helps ease anxiety: music is known to lower your heart rate while also reducing level of cortisol known as the stress hormones.

4. Music helps lower blood pressure : music has a calming effect on the nervous system which also helps lower your blood pressure.

5. Music can help improve your mood: music can lift your mood by promoting feelings of nostalgia and relaxation while reducing  feeling of distress and depression.

6. Music promotes better sleep: music helps regulate the stress hormones, cortisol it also help calm part of the automatic nervous system which can help slow your breathing and heart rate and lower blood pressure.

7. It help boost your concentration, focus and memory: music helps you concentrate and retain information, whether you’re studying for a test or focusing on a work project. Music also help order adults perform better on memory and tasks.
