Benue Gov- Elect Inaugurates Budget Review Committee

As the countdown to the swearing-in of the new administration in Benue State continues, the Benue State Governor-Elect, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia Tuesday, May 09, 2023 inaugurated another Committee – the Budget Review Committee.

The Budget Review Committee which was inaugurated tuesday at Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office, Makurdi is to look at the 2023 Budget approved by the 9th assembly and realign it with the vision of the incoming administration.

Benue Assembly passes 46 bills, proceed on recess

Speaking during the inauguration, the Governor-Elect, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia described the committee as a technical team chosen amongst many and trusted with a responsibility to serve Benue people in a very unique capacity.

He said, theirs was a huge trust since there were so many people who could have acted in their steads, but they were selected with the hope that they would be transparent and deliver in goodwill.

Fr. Alia further invited interest groups and personalities to look beyond politics and bear with him, stressing that his administration would work a very fine line to keep everyone afloat.

Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Dr. Andôhôl Jerome thanked the Governor-Elect for finding them worthy of his trust, promising that the committee will work diligently and deliver the best result.

Earlier, the chairman of the Transition Committee, Hon. Mike Iordye said they would work closely with the Budget Review Committee for effective output.

The State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rt. Hon. Paul Biam, pledged the loyalty of the party to the incoming administration and enjoined all the committee members not to disappoint Benue people.
