Canada’s Quinn Causes Confusion At Women’s World Cup

Canada’s team in the ongoing women’s world cup in Australia consists of 22 females and one trying not to be a female athlete.

Rebecca Quinn who no longer wants to be called a woman decided that identifying as non-binary even though she’s medically transitioning to male, would be keeping all the testosterone that comes with being a man while playing for the female team.

Quinn’s appearance was a significant loss for women’s rights in the sporting world at a time when sporting bodies are implementing stricter rules around Trans inclusion. 

In the Summer of 2020, Quinn was part of the team who won Gold in the National Women’s football team at the Tokyo Olympics.
