Chelsea Celebrates Big Win Over Liverpool, Keep Champions League Dream Alive

Chelsea continued their push for a top-five Premier League finish with a brilliant 3-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday, but they may have to cope without striker Christopher Nkunku for a little while longer.

Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed after the match that the French forward could be out for another 10 to 15 days as he recovers from a minor injury. Nkunku was missing from the squad that defeated Liverpool and also didn’t travel to Sweden for Chelsea’s 4-1 away win against Djurgarden in the Conference League semi-final first leg last Thursday.

While goalkeeper Robert Sanchez returned to action against Liverpool, Nkunku stayed behind in west London to continue his treatment. Other players still unavailable include Wesley Fofana, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, and Mykhailo Mudryk, who is suspended.

Speaking after Sunday’s victory, Maresca said: “Christo will be out for, I’m not sure, I think one week, two weeks. We are going to see. He will be out for the next 10 days, 15 days.”

Chelsea’s strong performance against Liverpool keeps their Champions League hopes alive, and fans will be hoping Nkunku returns soon to help the team finish the season on a high.
