Cricket: Rwanda confident of reaching West African Trophy final

Rwanda coach Lee Booth remains optimistic about reaching the final of the ongoing West Africa Trophy tournament in Lagos after recording their second win of the tournament.

Rwanda made a slow start to the tournament, losing twice against Nigeria and also surrendered another game in the super over against Ghana.

They, however, beat Sierra Leone and overturned their defeat against Ghana during their second meeting to make it two wins in five games.

Ahead of their second meeting against Sierra Leone on Tuesday (today), Booth says the victory over Ghana is crucial to their progress.

Rwanda’s two wins leave them behind Nigeria and Ghana in the table but they have a chance to move ahead of the Ghanaians as they face Sierra Leone today.

Monday was a reserved day for the four teams and after five matches each, Nigeria led the Super Four tournament with a perfect run of 10 points from five wins.
