Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) says it has undertaken 181 projects in primary and secondary schools in the state to improve their infrastructure.
The Board also revealed that its activities regarding the anchor programme, Edo Basic Education Transformations System (EdoBEST), were sponsored and supervised by the World Bank.
The ongoing projects include the construction and renovation of classrooms, perimeter fencing, and toilets, among others.

Chairman of the Board, Ozevize Salami disclosed this at a press conference held at the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) in Benin City, highlighting the achievements of the Board in the last two years.
She said the state government provided free education for pupils up to JSS 3 and enriched the school curricula with life skills to make the pupils competitive should they decide to discontinue their education.
She further revealed that 228 schools under EdoBEST has 346,757 pupils, with 15,125 digitally trained teachers and that governance across SUBEB and the schools has significantly improved.
Salami clarified that schools in rural or hard-to-reach areas could not receive EdoBEST in the same manner as those in urban areas.
