#EndBadGovernance: DSS Frees 6 Detained Protesters, 3 To Be Indicted

At least six individuals detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) for their involvement in protests against bad governance in Nigeria have been released, according to reports from Vanguard on Sunday.

Sources within the security agency indicate that the release occurred last Thursday in Kaduna, following directives from the DSS Director General, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi. The DG emphasized that while he does not support the wrongful detention of innocent citizens exercising their constitutional rights, he will not tolerate criminal behaviour.

Additionally, it has been reported that there is substantial evidence to pursue criminal charges against three individuals still in custody.

Those released expressed gratitude for the DSS’s humane approach during the investigation, which ultimately led to their unconditional release.
