The Federal Ministry of Education has officially confirmed the appointment of Professor Christopher B.N. Ogbogbo as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Ibuzor, Delta State. This clarification comes in response to recent misleading reports questioning the credibility of the selection process.
In a statement released by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations, the Ministry emphasized that a thorough investigation and review of the selection procedure revealed that due process was meticulously followed. The Ministry’s intervention reaffirmed that Professor Ogbogbo emerged as the most eligible candidate based on merit and fairness, aligning with the Federal Government’s commitment to these principles.
The Ministry also highlighted the declassification of the Council’s 21st Extraordinary Meeting Report held on 26th and 27th February 2025, describing it as a step towards promoting full transparency in the administration of the University.
Furthermore, the Federal Ministry of Education reiterated its commitment to upholding due process, fairness, and merit in its supervisory responsibilities. It affirmed that the appointment of Professor Ogbogbo is in full compliance with the provisions of the Admiralty University of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2022 and other relevant regulations governing the institution’s affairs.
The statement concluded by urging the public to disregard any contrary reports and assured that the Ministry would continue to ensure transparency and accountability in the administration of federal institutions.
