A fire erupted on Friday at the Bono Energy Terminal in the Coconut area of Olodi Apapa, Lagos, triggering a swift response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
The incident occurred at the fuel terminal located along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, with firefighters immediately mobilised to the scene to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading to nearby facilities.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Shakiru Amodu, said emergency teams had been deployed and were actively working to bring the fire under control.
He stated that firefighters were responding to the outbreak at the terminal, adding that more details would be made available as the operation continued.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had not been determined, while authorities had not confirmed any casualties or the extent of damage caused by the incident.
Emergency personnel remained at the scene as firefighting and containment efforts continued. Officials are expected to provide further updates after preliminary investigations are completed.
