Flamingos Coach Announces Full 21-Player Squad for 2024 U-17 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s football team, the Flamingos, has announced its squad for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in the Dominican Republic. Head coach Bankole Olowookere has selected 21 players to represent the country in the tournament, which kicks off on October 16. Nigeria will face New Zealand in their opening match.

The Flamingos are drawn into Group A, where they will compete against the host nation Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand. Following their impressive third-place finish in the 2022 edition of the tournament held in India, the Nigerian team is eager to build on that success.

In addition to Nigeria, African representatives Kenya and Zambia will also be competing in this year’s World Cup.
