Former Rivers State Governor, Dr Peter Odili, has reaffirmed his support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid the ongoing political tensions in the state.
Speaking at an event in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Odili assured the governor of the backing of Rivers people and encouraged him to remain resolute.
He said, “Your people are with you, and they have asked me to tell you that you are the political leader of Rivers State.
“Rivers people said that wherever you go, we will go with you. Wherever you stand, we will stand with you. You are standing on firm ground. Stand there and hold on to God.”
Odili’s comments came against the backdrop of a renewed political confrontation between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
