Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) has commended the Benue State governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia as the first governor in Nigeria to implement the Revised Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) 2023 at the revised rate. The state president of the association, Dr Moses Agwa, who disclosed this in a statement said, the gesture is a remarkable feat that will inspire resident doctors to be committed to their training and service delivery.
While appreciating the efforts of the acting chief medical director, Dr Michael Maanongun in ensuring the fruition of this effort, the association also commended Governor Alia, for his uncommon commitment to resolving the challenges faced by the healthcare sector within the state.
He also expressed gratitude to the governor for the prompt payment of MRTF saying that it was done in time to meet the registration deadline for resident doctors’ exams and course updates.
The president noted that Governor Alia’s timely payment of the revised Medical Residency Training Fund demonstrates his deep understanding of the crucial role played by medical professionals in providing quality healthcare services to the people of Benue State.
Agwa added that the governor’s commitment to the well-being of healthcare workers sets a remarkable example for other leaders to emulate, cementing his position as a visionary governor dedicated to the advancement of medical services in Benue State.
