A social educational project spearheaded by InDrive, BeginIT has empowered 61 children drawn from orphanages, boarding and rural schools with Information Technology (IT) skills.

The program is an initiative that is aimed at providing future career guidance for children from orphanages, boarding and rural schools with IT skills.

Over time, 31 children graduated from the program in 2021 and 30 completed the program in 2022. During the two years, the project held several workshops and other events to instill problem-solving skills and prepare children from orphanages, boarding and rural schools.

BeginIT Social Project Manager, Anna Soldatova said with the enrollment of 45 students this year, students would continue to benefit from the cutting-edge technology and education provided by BeginIT.

She said that every child should have a chance to realise his or her potential regardless of social circumstances.

Begin IT was launched in Nigeria in 2021 to ignite children’s curiosity in intellectual production by providing them with an early advantage for personal development, influencing their career paths, and supporting their initial steps in the IT sector.

To achieve this objective, it partners with STEMCafe, local government and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria.

The program is part of In Drive’s community empowerment efforts to challenge injustice globally.

The goal is to develop children’s interest in the sphere of intellectual production, give a head start to personal growth, influence the choice of future profession, and support their beginnings in IT.
