How Abisola Kola-Daisi Ajimobi Died

Bisola Kola-Daisi, the eldest daughter of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, passed away at the age of 42 in the United Kingdom.

The mother of three died on the morning of Thursday, March 27, 2025, and her passing comes five years after the death of her father, Former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi in 2020.

Bisola was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi, a well-respected Ibadan-born politician and bank executive.

Her husband shared on social media: “The world has lost a shining star. Bisola was not just my wife; she was my partner in everything. Her spirit will live on in our children.”

President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, the widow of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, following the death of her daughter, Mrs. Bisola Kola-Daisi.

In a statement released on Friday and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President referred to the death as an unexpected and heartbreaking loss.

“In a poignant conversation with the bereaved mother on Thursday, President Tinubu conveyed his deep sympathy to the family during this time of profound loss, acknowledging the unexpected and heart-wrenching departure of a cherished daughter, devoted wife, and mother of three,” the statement read.

The President also offered his prayers and support to Mrs. Kola-Daisi’s husband, family, friends, and associates, describing the late Bisola as warm-hearted, industrious, and charitable.

President Tinubu highlighted her accomplishments, noting her significant role as a successful businesswoman and trusted public servant.

“Her wise counsel in budgeting and finance was invaluable,” the statement continued.

President Tinubu prayed for divine comfort and strength for the grieving family, while also asking God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

“President Tinubu prayed for Almighty God’s grace to receive her soul and provide comfort and strength to her survivors,” Onanuga stated.

The passing of Mrs. Kola-Daisi has been met with widespread condolences from family, friends, and political associates, many of whom have remembered her as a compassionate leader and dedicated professional.

Who Is Bisola Kola-Daisi?

Abisola, born on March 12, 1981, was known as Abi-KD.

She was the daughter of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, and Florence Ajimobi.

Abisola attended the British School of Lomé in Togo, where she became fluent in French, before moving to the United States to earn an AA Degree from Santa Monica College.

She later obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance from California State University and an MBA from the United Kingdom. In 2022, she completed a Master’s degree in the power and influence of positive influence at Harvard Business School.

After graduating from college in the United States, Abisola worked as a Senior Manager (Retail) at Victoria’s Secret before returning to Nigeria to complete her National Youth Service Corps. In 2008, she joined Saje Shipping, a subsidiary of MRS Oil and Gas, as the Senior Manager – Finance and Administration.

Abisola was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi, son of a billionaire industrialist from Ibadan, since 2010, and they were blessed with three lovely children.

Bisola was also a close friend of renowned American reality stars Khloe Kardashian and Malika Haqq.

At the time of her passing, she was the Managing Director of Grandex Nigeria Ltd., a leading FMCG retail and wholesale chain established in 1984.

Bisola served as a Special Adviser to the Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu.

Abisola made a significant impact on lives and communities through her philanthropic work, actively participating in various charitable causes.

She founded the AKD Foundation and the AKD Kids Foundation to support orphans and homeless children in Nigeria. Additionally, she was a patron of the ABC Foundation, a charitable organization founded by her mother in Ibadan.

What We Know About Her Death

Although the exact cause of her death has not been confirmed, but according to ‘The Nations’, Abisola had been battling breast cancer for several years.

Details regarding the funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.
