Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo played for 82 minutes in Saturday’s FIFA Club World Cup match in which he featured for Saudi Arabia side, Al Hilal against hosts, Wydad Casablanca.
His Al Hilal side won via penalty shootout as Ighalo becomes the fourth Nigerian player to feature in the competition.
Before him had been the duo of Mikel Obi and Victor Moses for Chelsea in 2012.
There had also been former Flying Eagles’ defensive midfielder, Obiora Nwankwo, wearing shirt number 40 was an unused substitute in the Inter Milan side that won the 2010 edition after beating TP Mazembe of DR Congo
