INEC Recognises New PDP Leadership After Convention

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally acknowledged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Nyesom Wike, following the party’s recent national convention.

The update was reflected on INEC’s official platform, where Abdulrahman Mohammed is listed as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, alongside other members of the party’s national leadership.

This development comes after the PDP convention in Abuja, where the new leadership emerged through a consensus process following the dissolution of the party’s caretaker committee.

Other members of the NWC include Aaron Chukwuemeka (Deputy National Chairman, South), Yusufu Akirikwen (Deputy National Chairman, North), and Umar Bature (National Organising Secretary), among others.

INEC’s recognition is seen as a significant moment in the PDP’s internal dynamics, potentially influencing the party’s cohesion and strategic direction as it prepares for future political contests.
