Galatasaray’s technical director, Okan Buruk, has confirmed that Victor Osimhen’s loan deal from Napoli includes a clause allowing the striker to move to another club during the January transfer window. However, Buruk emphasized that the decision ultimately lies with Osimhen, who has expressed his intention to remain at Galatasaray until the season’s end.
In an interview with the club’s official website, Buruk clarified that despite the clause, Osimhen is committed to staying at the Turkish club. He explained, “Osimhen has always stated his desire to stay until the end of the season. While there is a clause for a January move, it’s ultimately up to the player. He has made it clear he intends to stay, and that’s what matters most.”
Reflecting on the process of securing Osimhen’s signing, Buruk recalled his meeting in Milan, where discussions about the player first took place. “We didn’t talk about football; we just enjoyed dinner together,” Buruk said, describing his time with former Inter Milan colleague Gardi. “It didn’t seem realistic at first, but after our match against Adana Demirspor, we had a video call at the airport. We then presented the idea to the transfer committee, and after securing approval from the president, the deal was finalized.”
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on the final day of the summer transfer window after a move to Chelsea and a potential transfer to Al Ahly fell through. The 25-year-old Nigerian striker has quickly become a key player for the team, recording eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances across all competitions.
