JUST IN: Israeli PM Lapid Congratulates Benjamin Netanyahu On Victory

Prime Minister Yair Lapid has called Benjamin Netanyahu to congratulate him on his election victory, his office says, as final result show the pro-Netanyahu bloc with 64 Knesset seats following this week’s election.

Lapid tells Netanyahu he’s instructed all departments of the Prime Minister’s Office to prepare for an orderly transfer of power.

“The State of Israel is above any political consideration,” Lapid says. “I wish Netanyahu luck for the sake of the people of Israel and the State of Israel.”
