Kneeling For My Husband Doesn’t Make Me Inferior – President Of Tanzania

The first female president in east-Africa, President Samia Suluhu has said that her accomplishment and position of authority in Tanzania, will not prevent her from being submissive to her husband.

In a video currently circulating, President Samia said kneeling before her husband to show submission and honor would not make her inferior to him but was rather a sign of love and affection.

The video was made while she was vice president to the late President Magufuli, where she said that despite the powerful position she occupies, Hafidh Ameir, remains her husband and head of the family.

She asked those she was addressing, not to leave the tradition so that “we can strenghten the bond of our families and bring up our children through good manners.”

“Some of you will say we are equal in all aspects of society, No! That’s not the right position, even as vice president, i will kneel before my husband. I don’t kneel because i am inferior, its because of love and affection.”
