An Entertainment Lawyer, Rockson Igelige has called on Edo state government to build a museum for the works of the legendary singer and a guitarist, Sir Victor Uwaifo, who died on Aug. 28.
Igelige, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, said that such gesture would help to immortalise the late music maestro.
According to him, the Edo State Government should reach out to the family to work out plan for a museum for his works.
He described Uwaifo as `a writer, sculptor and musical instrument inventor’, who must be immortalised for his legendary work.
He said he was vast in cultural values, particularly in that of the Benin Kingdom by documenting the Benin history through his artistic works.
“Uwaifo was a cultural icon of inestimable value and national treasure. The late musician was an ocean of knowledge in matters relating to culture.
“I call on Edo State Government to as a matter of urgency ensure that the works of the late music legend is preserved for the future and unborn generations,’’ he said.
It would be recalled that the legendary singer died on Aug. 28, six months after celebrating his 80th birthday.
