The International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA which was among International observers that observed the Liberia Senatorial Elections and Referendum yesterday has hailed the conduct of the exercise which it described as good for democracy.

The IAWPA team was led by the country Director of the association Amb. Sammy Davis who said with what its teeming observers saw on ground, the essence of the elections was not defeated.

A statement signed by the International Spokesman of IAWPA Amb Emmanuel Nkweke who is also one of the international observers for the Elections described the attitude of the voters as well as that of the candidates for the various Senatorial offices as exemplary. The statement also urged stakeholders to ensure that they join hands together towards ensuring that the practice of democracy thrives in Africa as a whole.

The International Association of World Peace Advocates which is in an international association that is interested in global peace building and promotion and also enjoys a United Nations ECOSOC SPECIAL CONSULTATIVE STATUS was also among international observers that observed the Ghana elections days back.

Amb. Nkweke described both Elections as turning points for democracy in Africa and stressed that the practice of democracy in the African continent is gradually taking shape for the better.
