Court Nullifies All LP’s Candidature in Abia, Kano

One Ibrahim Haruna Ibrahim filed a suit with No FHC/KN/CS/107/2023, against the Labour Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Acting on the suit, the court ruled that the failure of the Labour Party to submit its membership register to the INEC within 30 days before their primaries renders the process invalid.

According to the governor-elect, there is no cause for concern as the judgement is an unjust decision that cannot undermine the will of the people.

Otti, who spoke in Abia, confirmed that preparations for his scheduled inauguration on May 29 are proceeding as planned.

He declared that the enemies of democracy cannot thwart the wishes of the Abia populace.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party has dismissed the court ruling as a futile exercise, emphasizing that it holds no significance.
