Man beats Brother to Coma over new Naira notes in FCT

A man in his mid-30s, Tochukwu Ihenacho, reportedly beat his younger brother Philip to a state coma for spending 5,000  Naira in new notes given to him to keep.

The incident happened in the pipeline area of Kubwa, a satellite town in Bwari area

Council of the FCT.

The two brothers who lived together had to be separated by neighbors who witnessed

the incident. Philip who fell into a coma has recovered.

Meanwhile, the Central bank of Nigeria has directed all commercial banks to pay

customers over the counter in N100, N50, N20, N10, and N5 notes, regardless of the

amount withdrawn.

The banker’s committee issued the directives to all commercial banks in the country and also announced the discontinuation of old notes payments of N1000, N500, and N200 across the counters.
