Al-Nassr have reached a full agreement with Leverkusen which will see the 24-year-old, Victor Boniface, earn a staggering €15 million net per season at his new club, a significant increase from his current wages in Germany.
Boniface has become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market.
The striker has already completed his medical examinations, clearing the final hurdle for the move.
Al Nassr, currently fourth in the Saudi Pro League are actively strengthening its squad, which already includes football icons such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozović, and Aymeric Laporte.
Victor Boniface’s Journey
Victor Okoh Boniface born 23rd December 2000 is from Akure, Ondo state and a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and the Nigeria national team.
After gaining experience at Real Sapphire in Nigeria, Boniface made his mark in European football with Norwegian top-tier club Bodø/Glimt. During his time there from 2019 to 2022, he scored 23 goals and provided eight assists in 66 appearances.
His impressive performance earned him a transfer to Belgian Pro League side Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2022, where his goalscoring form continued. The 6’2″ forward marked his debut with a hat-trick in a UEFA Champions League qualifying match against Klaksvik, which was part of a total of 22 goals and 12 assists in 55 competitive appearances for the club.
Boniface joined Leverkusen in July 2023 for €20.5 million, and his impact has been nothing short of impressive. Despite a thigh injury that kept him sidelined since November, Boniface scored eight goals in 15 appearances for the Bundesliga side. His 14 goals in 23 league matches helped Leverkusen secure the Bundesliga title, an achievement they managed without losing a single game.
The Nigerian forward’s stellar performances also earned him the prestigious Rookie of the Year award, with Boniface winning the monthly prize on four occasions.
