Minister Expresses Satisfaction As 80,000 Candidates Sit For Rescheduled JAMB Exam

The Federal Ministry of Education has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the rescheduled 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, made the expression while monitoring the UTME alongside the Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede on Saturday in Abuja.

The Minister who monitored the examination at the Computer Based Test (CBT) centre located in Mambila Barrack’s, Asokoro, Abuja, expressed delight over the smooth conduct of the exercise.

Meanwhile, JAMB Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, earlier revealed that about 80,000 candidates who could not sit for the 2023 UTME within their scheduled time owing to no fault of theirs, were rescheduled to be examined  across the country.

According to Benjamin, the affected candidates include those who were verified at their centres but could not sit the examination, those who could not be biometrically verified and those with mismatched data among others.

Recall that a total of 1,586,765 candidates registered for the 2023 UTME.
