The District Institute of Education and Training, Dharwad (DIET) has started training block resource persons (BRP), cluster resource persons (CRP) and primary and high school teachers to implement the principles of new National education Policy -2020 in classrooms.

The department of state educational research and training (DSERT) is conducting face-to-face training for teachers and implementing faculty.

The Centre announced NE to improve the quality of education in India.

NE has a wide scope ranging from early childhood to higher education, professional education to vocational education, teacher training to professional education with the training aimed at successful implementation of NEP in schools.

According to a source, 34 modules in different disciplines are developed by 34 DIETS all over Karnataka under the guidance of DSERT.

All teachers must complete nine modules and one pedagogy module but they can do all the 34 modules if they wish.

DIET principal NK Savakar has instructed the trainees to get involved actively in the five-day training process.

While speaking with journalists, Savakar revealed that the present module deals with the aims, objectives and principles of NEP.

He said understanding that ‘every child is unique’ is the main motto of this module as it helps teachers to know about the different types of learning methodologies to achieve conceptual learning.

The module suggests different types of learning methods like art integrated learning, sports integrated learning, toy based learning and integrated learning for students at primary and secondary levels.

He added that it also helps teachers offer training in skills like critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication information literacy and technology literacy.
