NCAA axe falls on Azman Air Boeing 737 fleet

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the operations of all the Boeing 737 aircraft in the fleet of Azman Air Services Limited, with effect from March 15, 2021.

Capt. Musa Nuhu, the Director-General of NCAA announced the suspension today, following a series of incidents involving Azman Air Boeing 737 aircraft.

The airline has 5 Boeing 737 in its fleet, with the average age of 23 years.Azman also has an Airbus A340, formerly operated by Virgin Atlantic.

It said it would acquire a second A340 to allow it to launch scheduled services to Dubai.
But it appears all the planes have been grounded.

Nuhu said that the suspension was in pursuant to Section 35 (2) of the Civil Aviation Act, 2006 and Part 1.3.3.3 (A) of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) 2015.
