The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has lifted all COVID-19 restriction mandates, including the wearing of Face masks for air travelers, aircraft crew as well as workers inside all airport terminal buildings and onboard aircraft.
In the circular obtained by National Daily, and dated 12th of December, titled “Revised COVID-19/Public Health Guidelines for all aviation service providers and addressed to all Aviation Service providers, the NCAA said the wearing of facemask inside airport terminal building and onboard aircraft by airport workers, passengers and crew members is no longer mandatory.
Director General of NCAA, Captain Musa Nuhu in the statement, also added that disinfection of bags at the entrance of terminal buildings, as well as social distancing at airport terminal buildings are no longer mandatory.
The NCAA stated that pre-departure and post-arrival COVID-19 PCR tests are no longer required for all passengers irrespective of vaccination status.
According to the NCAA, permission to travel/QR code is no required, however, a simplified Health Questionnaire form (non-COVID-19 specific) to be completed by all passengers travelling to Nigeria
Captain Nuhu added that Airlines are therefore required to resume serving meals and drinks onboard aircraft.
