NUC Lauds Delta On Sustainable Educational Development

The Acting Executive Secretary of the National University Commission, NUC, Chris Maiyaki, has commended Delta State Government for its contributions to sustainable educational development in the state and country.

Maiyaki made the commendation when he led the commission on a courtesy visit to the governor in Government House, Asaba.

He explained that the visit was coming at a time when the calls for the reinvention of the higher education system were getting louder by the day.

NUC is vested by law with the vital and strategic responsibility of orderly development of university education, the general coordination and regulation of the sub-sector.

He thanked the governor for the sustainable funding and support extended to this University and indeed all other institutions of higher learning in Delta.

The Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori said the State Government placed a premium on education to keep students of the State on track and focused.

Welcoming the Commission to the state, Oborevwori thanked NUC for approving the three new universities for the state, saying the establishment of the new universities was well justified hence the House of Assembly he presided over then didn’t waste time in passing the bills.
