Ondo Denies Recruitment Of New Primary School Teachers

The Ondo State Government has refuted a media report that it had commenced recruitment of another set of primary school teachers.

The State Universal Basic Education Board described the report as untrue and capable of misleading members of the public. The report was said to have stated that the board will be conducting screening examinations to employ another set of primary school teachers.

In a statement issued by the Information Officer of the board, Bisi Agboola, in Akure, the state capital on Thursday, the board urged the people of the state to disregard the information.

According to the statement, the fake information had been circulating on a fake website and Twitter for the last one week.

The statement read, “The board described the information as untrue and advised members of the public to disregard such information as it was meant to defraud the unsuspecting applicants.

“It will be recalled that Ondo State government has recently approved the recruitment of about 1200 qualified teachers to fill some vacant positions in the primary schools across the 18 Local Government Areas.”
