The South Korean government has announced bigger subsidies for people who make their living driving diesel vehicles, the price of diesel having surpassed that of gasoline now for the first time since 2008.
The plan was announced Tuesday after a meeting of the Finance Ministry and several other ministries.
The government will reimburse half the amount spent on diesel by drivers of trucks, taxis and so on above the price of 1-thousand-7-hundred-50 won per liter.
The threshold before had been a hundred won higher than that.
The aim is to have the bigger subsidy in effect by the 1st of June and to extend from July until September.
