The Lagos State Government has declared that it will not be implementing any movement restrictions by July and that it has not reinstated the monthly environmental sanitation program.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, said that the report’s authors are pranksters who enjoy misleading locals.
Kunle Adeshina, the ministry’s director of public affairs, made a statement that included this information.
Wahab said there will be no mobility restrictions on the final Saturday of July, as falsely reported in the fake news, and advised all inhabitants to ignore the contents of the widely circulated fake news and proceed with their legitimate business endeavors.
The commissioner clarified the remarks made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday at a Campos sanitation sensitization campaign.
The commissioner clarified that the state would begin a weekly community-based sensitization and awareness exercise that will involve all people, as announced by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday during a cleanliness sensitization session at Campos playground Lagos Island.
The commissioner asked everyone to adopt the habit of constantly tidying their surroundings rather than waiting for the government to designate a certain month.
