Russian League Man of The Match Award Thrills Moses

Nigerian winger, Victor Moses, is excited to have been named the Man of The Match in Spartak Moscow’s 1-1 draw with Akhmat Grozny in their Russian Premier League opener

The former Chelsea winger scored the equaliser for 10-man Spartak Moscow in the 83rd minute after coming on in the 78th minute for Anton Zinkovskly.

The Nigerian struck a beautiful half-volley, leaving Giorgi Shelia for dead in the Akhmat Grozny goal.

Artem Timofeev shot the hosts into the lead in first half added time, after Maciej Rybus was sent off in the 41st minute.

It’s Moses’ eighth goal in 54 games for the Russians since he arrived from Chelsea two years ago. He has nine assists.

Man of the match and buzzing to get on the scorers’ sheet,” the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner celebrated on his Twitter handle.

Spartak face Krassnodar in their second league game on Saturday.

The 31-year-old has played for Crystal Palace, Wigan Athletic, Liverpool, West Ham United, Stoke City and Chelsea (all in England).

He has also had stints in Italy with Inter Milan and Fenerbahce in Turkey.
