Satellite internet provider, Starlink, has announced a significant increase in its monthly subscription fees. In a message sent to customers on Tuesday, the company stated that the price hike will affect both existing and new subscribers.
The new pricing for the standard residential package is set at ₦75,000. Meanwhile, the mobile regional (roam unlimited) plan will now cost ₦167,000, and the mobile global (global roam) package is priced at ₦717,000.
For new customers, these revised rates are effective immediately, while existing customers will see the changes come into effect on October 31, 2024.
Starlink attributed the price adjustment to “excessive levels of inflation,” citing the need to align service costs with prevailing economic conditions.
The company also reassured users that they can cancel their subscription at any time without incurring any penalties if they choose not to continue with the service.
