Academic and commercial activities were put on hold as the students of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa in Oyo took to the streets over repeated cases of armed robbery, rape and other vices in Ibarapa local government area of the State.
The former Commissioner for Works, Bolaji Kareem, in a letter intimated the state governor, Seyi Makinde of the development in the area.
He said the Government should kindly implore security agents to act swiftly before it spreads to other parts of Oyo State.

Disturbed by the perceived insensitivity of the government to their plights, the students in their hundreds took to the streets, barricaded the road linking Eruwa to other parts of the state.
The development resulted in disruption of human and vehicular movement as market stalls were forced to be put under lock and key.
The protesters submitted that there have been constant robberies going on in Eruwa every night since the Institution resumed for the second semester.
The President of the Student Union Government, Comrade Azeez Rilwan added that in the past two months, students have been subjected to untold hardship.
Meanwhile, the Institution management has shut down for two weeks while the students have been asked to vacate the campus to forestall the breakdown of law and down.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso could not be reached for his comment on the matter.
