Super Falcons In UEFA Women’s Champions League: Oshoala, Ucheibe Set For Collision

This year’s UEFA Women’s Champions League will contain a number of Super Falcons after their respective clubs made it into the 16-team group stage of the tournament.

Chiamaka Nnadozie has long been considered as Africa’s best goalkeeper and one of the best in the world. She has reinforced that belief in the last few months, first in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and then in the qualifiers for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

After her penalty saving heroics knocked out Arsenal in the previous round, she came up with a brilliant penalty save against last year’s finalists Wolfsburg as her Paris FC side sent them out of the competition to reach the group stage.

Paris FC will face English champions Chelsea, Real Madrid Femeni and BK Hacken in their group.

Elsewhere, Super Falcons duo Asisat Oshoala and Christy Ucheibe are set to meet in the group stage of the tournament after their respective teams were drawn together.

Ucheibe was on the scoresheet for Benfica Women as they sealed their place in the group stage of the competition with a comfortable win. The Portuguese champions will face reigning champions FC bARCELONA Femeni and Oshoala, as well as Halimatu Ayinde‘s FC Rosengard in the group phase.

Lastly, Super Falcons defender Nicole Payne and her PSG Feminine side overcame the test of Manchester United Women to reach the group stage. They will face AS Roma, Ajax and Bayern Munich in their group.
