A Facebook platform, The Nigerian Teachers Community, has been recognised by the Study UK Alumni Awards ceremony.
It was organised by the British Council.
The Nigerian Teachers community, founded by Dr Peter Ogudoro in 2016 was celebrated in Lagos by the British Council for outstanding social action in Nigeria’s education industry.
Ogudoro is one of the three finalists for Social Action who are in the race for the Global Awards which will be announced later in the year. The Nigerian Teachers community which now had a membership of about half a million members was one of the outstanding accomplishments that had earned him the honour.

A statement by Ogudoro said the community was a free continuous professional development platform for Nigerian teachers and many other teachers who have joined them from around the world.
According to the British Council, “The Study UK Alumni Awards is a prestigious global awards scheme that finds and celebrates the outstanding alumni of UK Higher Education Institutions and the impact that they are having around the world. Award finalists are leaders who can articulate how they have used their UK education to make a difference in their professions, societies and countries.”
“The global winners will be invited to the UK for a professional networking visit to build their networks and boost their careers.”
