The Nigeria Union of Teachers have complained about the non-implementation of 2020 World Teachers Day promises made to the union by the Federal Government.
Secretary-General, Mike Ike-Ene in an interview alleged that the former President Mohammadu Buhari-led administration made some mouth-watering promises for basic education without fulfilling them.
Recall that during the programme, Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, reeled out these promises including approval of a special salary scale for basic and secondary school teachers in Nigeria, an increment of the retirement age of the teachers from 60 to 65, and the number of service years from 35 to 40 to mention a few.
