Traffic Control: ECAPI Collaborates With LASTMA, Inducts Special Mayors

Anyone familiar with the Lagos metropolis will understand how important it is to have more personnel to control the traffic situation around the state.

The state government has put in place several measures to ameliorate the traffic congestion in most parts of the state, like creating the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA. The effort of LASTMA cannot be over emphasised. An elite group of volunteers called Special Traffic Mayors are also part of the LASTMA team tackling the challenges of road congestion everywhere in Lagos.

In line with her vision to foster a better and safer society, the Eagle Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiative (ECAPI) is in collaboration with LASTMA to ensure there’s better flow of traffic and less accident on Lagos roads.

To this end, on Thursday, December 3rd, LASTMA carried out a pre-induction ceremony of  ECAPI representatives as Special Traffic Mayors. The induction was carried out by the LASTMA Mayor Commander Othman Adeshina Tajudeen who lauded ECAPI for the role the organization has been playing in the society.

The newly inducted Special Traffic Mayors were congratulated by ECAPI President, Comrade Samuel Eniola Adam. The Mayors are charged with the mandate of better traffic management and instilling the spirit of civil obedience on drivers and other road users.

The event took place at the Banquet Hall of the International Trade Fair Complex, Lagos Badagry Expressway.
