Transfer: Everton Table Offer For Ndidi

English Premier League club, Everton, are the latest club to be linked with Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi, with reports saying the Toffees have tabled an offer to the midfielder ahead of next season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Following an impressive 2023/24 season with Leicester City in the English Championship, Nigeria international, Wilfred Ndidi, has seen his status raised again to become one of the most reliable and sought-after defensive midfielders in Europe.

After going down with the Foxes, Ndidi was immediately linked with a move away from the club but the King Power outfits were able to hold on to the midfielder who had just a year left on his contract at the time.

The 27-year-old played a key role as Leicester gained promotion back to the Premier League contributing four goals and five assists in 31 appearances this season.

With just two months left on the contract extension he signed in 2018, Ndidi is free to discuss terms with any club of his choice.

Spanish giants, Barcelona, and a host of Premier League clubs are keen on picking up the 27-year-old on a free transfer this summer

Meanwhile, according to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, Everton have presented an offer to Ndidi.

“Free agent this summer, Wilfred Ndidi already received a proposal from the Toffees trying to anticipate the competition. Several clubs are already working on his case but the Super Eagle hasn’t chosen his destination yet. Wait&See,” he wrote on his X handle.

The Nigerian joined the Foxes from Belgian side Genk for a fee of around £17m in 2017 and after an impressive debut season, his contract was extended until 2024.

According to jeunesfooteux.com, a French website, Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca and his coaching team are already preparing for life after Ndidi and have identified RB Salzburg’s Lucas Gourna-Douath as the ideal replacement for the Nigerian.

Meanwhile, footballleagueworld.co.uk, on Friday reported that Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Fulham are all in the race for the Leicester City star.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are also hoping to capitalise on the midfielder’s contract situation, while Mundo Deportivo wrote that Barcelona are keen to bolster their midfield options with Ndidi among the players identified by the Catalans.
