Trump Issues 48-Hour Ultimatum On Strait of Hormuz

Tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated as U.S. President Donald Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran, demanding the immediate reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz or face significant military consequences.

The ultimatum, delivered via Trump’s official communication channels, warns that failure to comply will result in U.S. strikes targeting Iran’s power infrastructure, beginning with its largest energy facilities.

The move comes amid an intensifying conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, now entering its fourth week. The crisis has centered around Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.

Iran has responded with strong warnings of its own. Senior officials, including parliamentary leaders and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, have threatened to completely shut down the waterway and target U.S. and allied infrastructure across the Middle East if Washington follows through on its threats.

The escalation follows recent Iranian missile attacks on Israeli territory that left over 100 people injured, further intensifying regional hostilities and drawing the United States deeper into the conflict.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has begun increasing its military presence in the region, deploying thousands of troops and signaling preparedness for a possible confrontation over control of the Strait. Analysts warn that any military clash in the area could severely disrupt global energy markets and trigger broader geopolitical instability.

Global markets have already begun reacting to the uncertainty, with oil prices surging due to restricted shipping and fears of prolonged supply disruption. Experts say the Strait of Hormuz remains a critical chokepoint, making it central to both economic stability and military strategy in the ongoing conflict.

As the 48-hour deadline approaches, the international community watches closely, with concerns growing that the standoff could escalate into a wider regional war with far-reaching global consequences.
