U-23 Team Begin Training Ahead Of Tanzania Qualifier

The U-23 national team held their first training at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Tuesday, ahead of their 2023 Africa U-23 Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania.

Coach Salisu Yusuf took charge of the session with a bunch of the invited players already in camp.

The Nigerian U-23 team will prepare for eight days, before jetting out Oct 18 for the first leg in Dar es Salaam, scheduled for the weekend of October 21-23, 2022.

A final squad for the game will be selected before the team depart.

Nigeria host Tanzania for the second leg at the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan on October 29.

The U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will be staged in Morocco June 2023.

The competition serves as qualifiers for the men’s football event of the Olympic Games, with the top three teams advancing to Paris 2024.
